the rachel papers (1989)

the Pedro Almodóvar film series is on hold because all the dvd versions of his films were not at Video Hut yesterday....i'm not watching the VHS version if I don't have to.

So I when with a bad 80's movie instead..By bad I was hoping that it would be painfully funny to watch late at night.

here comes the direct quote from the box: Nineteen-year-old Charles Highway (Dexter Fletcher) has developed a computer program that can attract any women he fancies. But despite his computer know-how, Charles' current project, the sweet and beautiful Rachel Noyce (Ione Skye, Say Anything) refuses to download her affections!!!

I could go on but it only gets worse. So the film is nothing like the description, plot wise. Well, it is a bad teen 80's movie but this time a British one. Which I have come to understand means that you can have cursing and nude in it. i did like Jonathan Pryce's performancee at the weird brother-in-law to our hero. James Spader is wasted in this film, I feel that he did this movie as a favor to someone. i did also see Eric Stoltz in a cameo in a large group scene. I have nothing to say about the two leads because I really can remember anything important enough to write about. oh well.

i stand: THINKING THAT IF YOU READ THIS REVIEW AND WANT TO WATCH THIS FILM DON'T DO IT. WATCH AN AMERICAN TEEN COMEDY THEY'RE BETTER...I VOTE FOR HEATHERS!! ANYONE WITH ME?
